DANIELLE DANIEL
As an artist educator, Danielle Daniel encourages self-discovery, social interaction and free expression. She has worked with numerous schools and communities to promote cultural diversity. Danielle is an international performer, presenting storytelling and theater projects in the Twin Cities, nation-wide, and in Africa, England, Germany and Italy.

 


LARRY LONG

Larry Long has made his life work the celebration of American stories and heroes. Pete Seeger praised his work, saying “Larry Long is doing what more singers and songwriters should be doing: using music to help people learn to work together, and bring a world of peace." A Smithsonian Folkways recording artist and performer, Larry Long is also the director of Community Celebration of Place, working with schools throughout Minnesota and the United States in the development of Elders’ Wisdom, Children’s Song.

 

 

  LORENA E. DUARTE
Lorena Duarte was born in El Salvador and raised in Minnesota, and holds degrees in Hispanic Studies/Romance Languages and Literature from Harvard University. She performs regularly with Palabristas - Latin@ Wordslingers - and at venues ranging from elementary classrooms to First Avenue. In 2007, Lorena represented Minnesota at the Individual World Poetry Slam in Vancouver, and was on Minnesota’s Poetry Slam Team at the National Poetry Slam in Texas. Lorena can present her programs in English and Spanish.
 

 

  PAGES OF MUSIC WITH ROLF AND CARRIE
Rolf Erdahl, double bass, and Carrie Vecchione, oboe/English horn, present educational programs linking music and children's literature. They are experienced educators and accomplished orchestral and chamber musicians with a mission to keep basic concepts of music alive in the schools. They perform a variety of engaging works written for their duo. Currently, Rolf teaches at Gustavus Adolphus College and Carrie teaches at the MacPhail Center for Music.
 

 

  RYAN NORTH
Ryan North has been teaching, producing and directing youth for over ten years and is known for creating large productions involving many people in ridiculously short amounts of time. With a belief that everyone has a little actor in them, Ryan helps everyone feel like they belong to something bigger. Beyond acting and directing, Ryan has extensive experience in music, movement, visual arts and media arts and he is the owner of Re Gifts and Twin Cities Green.
 

 

  TRIO CALLISTO
Trio Callisto is comprised of flutist Linda Chatterton, cellist Sally Gibson Dorer and harpist Min Kim. Trio Callisto transcribes much of its own music and works to generate interest in contemporary pieces for flute, cello and harp. The trio has been featured on National Public Radio’s Performance Today.
 

 

  USRY ALLEYNE
Multidisciplinary artist Usry Alleyne is trained in traditional and electronic media and has been teaching since 1993. Born in Guyana, South America, he spent his early years exploring the world around him, engaging his artistic eye. Through his art and his teaching, Usry encourages others to see the world from a new perspective. Usry was an artist advisor for the ACE Media Arts Program at Perpich Center for Arts Education from 2000-2003.
 

  ZORONGO FLAMENCO DANCE THEATRE
Formed in 1982, Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre combines the passionate soul of Spain with the lively innovative spirit of America. Joined by an international ensemble of flamenco dancers and musicians, founder and artistic director Susana di Palma transports her audience to the heart of Andalusia with spellbinding shows of power, passion and virtuosity.
